To reach Ahaspokuna by bus, start by traveling to Pambahinna junction, which can be accessed from major cities like Colombo, Kandy, and Ella via long-distance buses bound for Badulla, Bandarawela, or Haputale. Upon arriving at Pambahinna junction, you will need to arrange a local tuk-tuk or taxi to transport you to the pre-designated pick-up point for Ahaspokuna. This pick-up point is located on a less-frequented road, so obtaining precise directions from the camp in advance is essential. From the pick-up point, a 20-minute trek through the wilderness will lead you to Ahaspokuna. Please note that it is mandatory to pre-arrange your meeting time with our staff, as walking to the camp independently is not permitted for safety reasons.

Driving to Ahaspokuna involves reaching Pambahinna junction, which is approximately 2 to 3 hours from Nuwara Eliya or Hatton in the upper mountains, and around 3 to 4 hours from Colombo or Kandy. From Pambahinna junction, follow the directions provided by Ahaspokuna to get to the pre-designated pick-up point located on a less-frequented road. It is important to coordinate your arrival time and place with the camp beforehand, as mobile signals may be weak. Once you arrive at the pick-up point, a 20-minute trek through the wilderness will lead you to Ahaspokuna. Please ensure you pre-arrange your meeting time with our staff, as you are not permitted to walk to the camp on your own for safety reasons.

Although there is no direct train to Ahaspokuna, you can take a train to Pambahinna junction from Colombo Fort, Kandy, or Ella. Board a train heading towards Haputale, Bandarawela, or Idalgashinna on the scenic Kandy-Badulla line. After reaching Pambahinna junction, arrange a taxi or tuk-tuk to the pre-designated pick-up point for Ahaspokuna. This pick-up point is on a less-frequented road, so make sure to get precise directions from the camp in advance. Following your arrival at the pick-up point, a 20-minute trek will take you to Ahaspokuna. It is crucial to pre-arrange your meeting time with our staff, as independent walking to the camp is not allowed due to safety concerns.
